I was wondering if you can make 'domains under resellers' to show up in different colors or different background colors for the Master Admin in the domains dropdown list?
Or some other way to easily identify in the master admin interface?
I know domains that are already under other resellers are no longer in the list in the Reseller creation interface. I am not talking about this.

You can add a reseller column to the List Virtual Servers page .. would that help?
This can be configured at System Settings -> Virtualmin Configuration -> User interface settings -> Columns to show.
That does but that was not what I was looking for.
I was talking about the left column where a dropdown list shows all the domains on the machine which is the first thing under Virtualmin once you log in as root.
I wanted to make sure that I am not editing a domain that is under a reseller and therefore know it is under a reseller before I even touch it as Master Admin.

Unfortunately there is no way to categorize that list by reseller currently. You can have it sorted so that sub-servers appear under their parents, but resellers are another heirarchy above that.
