Hi,
I prefer to install SquirrelMail or RoundCube for my users and always turn Usermin off. However Usermin links on a user account creation page is always there. Is it possible to make this link seen only if Uermin is activated?

This is not so much important issue, however there is another USermin-related inconsistency.
Today, running 'yum upgrade' on one of our Visrtualmin installations, which rely on SquirrelMail and doesn't use Usermin at all, I noticed the system updated Usermin. Would be nice, if Usermin wouldn't load/update at all for the systems which don't use it. Is it possible to keep Usermin completely separated from Virtualmin?

You can just un-install the
usermin
package if you don't use it.Submitted by yngens on Thu, 02/21/2013 - 19:48 Comment #5
Oh, I didn't know I could do that. Thanks for the suggestion. I will remove Usermin right away and since I've got this suggestion from you, Jamie, I just assume it will not break the Virtualmin system itself.

Yes, the rest of Virtualmin will be fine.

I could find only "Usermin Configuration" in the list of Webmin modules as shown on the attached screenshot, no USermin module as such. I hope that is the right module to delete, isn't it? Thanks!
Update: On attempt to delete "Usermin Configuration" it has given the following error:
Failed to delete modules : Module Usermin Configuration cannot be deleted, as the module Cluster Usermin Servers depends on it
So I first deleted "Cluster Usermin Servers" module and then "Usermin Configuration". Is it correct way of removing Usermin from the system?

The simplest way to un-install is to SSH into the system as
root
and runrpm -e usermin

rpm -e usermin
gives:
error: Failed dependencies:
usermin >= 1.160 is needed by (installed) virtualmin-base-1.0-63.rh.noarch
/usr/libexec/usermin is needed by (installed) ust-virtual-server-theme-2:6.9-1.noarch

You may need to run
rpm -e --nodeps usermin
