How can I send a server-wide email to inform users about planned maintenance?

I need to schedule a RAM upgrade. I'd like to inform everybody in advance, including server owners and individual mailbox users.

Is there a way of sending a server-wide email to every single POP / IMAP mailbox?

Howdy -- Virtualmin offers a way to email all Virtual Server owners (as well as any extra admins)... you can do that from within Email Messages -> Email Server Owners.

There isn't actually a way to email all the email users on the system from within there, though as part of your email you could always request that the Virtual Server owners notify their email users.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I am the owner for every virtual server, so I'd just be emailing myself!

Maybe this can be a feature request?

You can go to the Edit Users page for each domain, and click the Edit All Mailboxes.

In the next release of Virtualmin, I will add an option to that mass email page to also email mailboxes in the chosen domains. This would be available in a few days ..

Email Server Owners > "Also email mailboxes in selected domains?"
