Hi,
We see a lot of waiting processes for one PHP4 website on RHEL5 + Virtualmin Pro (we jave per site php4 or php5 options in place).
Is it possible that this php / fastcgi bug is affecting us?
http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=40286
The virtual hosts are created by default with:
PHP_FCGI_CHILDREN=4
Thanks

What is the conclusion about the right values for PHP_FCGI_CHILDREN?
According to this page we should set it to 0 (should be the same as having it commented)
http://httpd.apache.org/mod_fcgid/mod/mod_fcgid.html
Is this right?

I think we ended up deciding that it should not be set, and thus the default used..

OK, understood. Thanks.

Does that mean to set PHP FCGId sub-processes in Server Configuration > Website Options (Virtualmin) to None?

Yes, that is correct.

Ok, thanks for clarification. So I suggest removing the option to set the PHP FCGId sub-processes to any value. Or does it fulfill any other task?

That option actually disappears once you turn it off, as we've decided that it is useless ..

I do have at least one occurrence where the option does not hide after setting it to None. Can not upload a screenshot to this comment because Drupal says I exceeded my quota. See here instead: http://fuerstnet.de/kram/virtualmin-PHP_FCGI_CHILDREN.png. Virtualmin version is 3.77 pro.

Sorry, I was mistaken .. that option does still appear.
I will make it disappear after being disabled in Virtualmin 3.79.
