I am re-installing VM on my debian 4.0 server after having issues with the first installation. This is a purchased license.
The first installation worked fine for a while (a couple days) then I kept getting "Error - File Not Found" errors when I tried to select VirtualMin options in the left hand frame of the control screen. When I selected WebMin in the left hand frame, the webmin screen appeared, but NOT in the main frame on the page, it was displayed in the left hand frame replacing the virtualmin menu options. Try as a I might, I couldn't resolve the issue and didn't find anything in the Forums about it either. So, in order to get smarter, I decided to reinstall based upon reinstallation instructions I found in the forum.
NOW, during the installation I get all kinds of errors when the script tries to download software from software.virtualmin.com. The errors are:
Failed to fetch http://zzzzzz:xxxxxx@software.virtualmin.com/debian/dists/virtualmin-etc... Packages.gz Sub-process gzip returned an error code (1)
Err http://software.virtualmin.com virtualmin-etch/main Packages
Sub-process gzip returned an error code (1)
Is the server down? Did I do the reinstallation incorrectly?
I am sorry to place this as a High Severity, but I now have folks who need to begin learning how to use VirtualMin.
