What was the reseller for those domains set to on the source system? It seems from the error like it was set to
root
, which doesn't make much sense ..Submitted by sgrayban on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 16:21 Comment #2
I have no idea, never seen this before and even though I check to ignore any errors it doesn't work.

The quick fix for this would be to un-tar the backup file into a temp directory, edit
./.backup/example.com_virtualmin
, remove the linereseller=root
, then tar up the directory contents again.Submitted by sgrayban on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 16:45 Comment #4
Ok.
I wonder how this could have happened in the first place ? This domain was one of my very first domains using VM 2 years before it became a pay4 Pro version. I wonder if its a old issue that never was found ?

I'm not sure, but possibly it was triggered by an old bug. However, I have added code to prevent a backup with an invalid reseller from being created in future..

However the check to ignore server creation errors should have ignored that error or any error for that matter.
This should be checked again and make sure it works as intended or re-worded to reflect what it actually does.

I'll also fix the restore process to ignore a missing reseller if you've chosen to ignore warnings.
