I'm going through the migration steps from Ubuntu 8.04 to 12.04 and received errors with the CRON, but my question is if I need to or should use UFW or does Vmin Pro use it's own and what is it called? I enabled UFW on the basic install right after I get the OS installed and then open port 22. Since I'm setting this up for the first time myself, I need to make sure all the correct protection is in place. Not sure if you have a guide for best practices on setup and security. Thanks

Howdy -- distributions aren't shipped insecure by default, and there are many folks who use a Linux distribution without making any security adjustments.
Many folks also don't run firewalls on their servers.
The recommended security options that are good for everyone are performed by distribution vendors -- everything else is something that needs to be weighed by each sysadmin to decide if it's right for them.
You're certainly welcome to use the third party firewall software such as UFW -- or you could set it up through Webmin by going into Webmin -> Networking -> Linux Firewall.

Thanks. I will use the built-in firewall with VMin.
