Sorry in advance if this is a non-issue post, but I had one other concern as part of task #3427
There was confirmation regarding the output of the disk usage stats, but I think that maybe I missed the mark in making my real concern understandable.
As for the home directory check box stuff on the virtualmin backup page, backup works exactly as disk usage in that if the home directory is checked (as well as logs) for inclusion, it doesn't go into the subdirectories to backup all files.
this may really be misleading to someone when they attempt to restore and find out they are missing files. it seems that it would be beneficial to either better document the home directory check box and log file exclusion behavior on the screen or describe in the help about what it really includes - top level no subdirectories, if this is the desired behavior.
i currently do rsync backups of the user data, but for someone who does this as a means of creating a full backup for a user i think they may be surprised. even some help text would go a long way in addressing this. from the user side it just didn't work the way i would have thought when i had to select the home dir as part of the new backup format in lieu of the older multi file backup method. thanks!
