awstats internal server error

Hi, from tha administration inteface awstats is working fine, but when I try to access web statistics from http://mysite.com/awstats/awstats.pl it asks me for username and password and then shows internal server error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

When this error happens, what gets logged to the file logs/error_log under the domain's home directory?
