To change the server's hostname I need to go to Webmin -> Networking -> Internet Services and Protocols -> Hostname and DNS Client
I'll also need to change:
/etc/hosts /etc/hostname
as well as
/etc/mailname /etc/postfix/main.cf
Is there anything else I need to be aware of?
What about our license? The system is not only changing name but IP address as well.
Thanks!
Chris

So, looking at that first step again I think Virtualmin has changed a bit. Am I correct that it should now be:
Webmin -> Networking -> Network Configuration -> Hostname and DNS Client
Should only the Hostname and DNS client be changed with the server's new hostname? (should Update hostname in host addresses if changed? be checked?) Or, should the Webmin -> Networking -> Network Confguration ->Host Address also have the hostname for the IP address changed? Sorry for the confusion.

We were actually just discussing all this, and the idea of simplifying this process.
You would indeed start in Webmin -> Networking -> Network Configuration -> Hostname and DNS Client.
At the moment, you'd also need to edit /etc/postfix/main.cf afterwards, as well as /etc/mailname if you're using that.
I think that's everything though.
In future versions of Webmin, we hope to make it so that all those areas are updated automatically by changing the hostname in Hostname and DNS Client.

Thanks Eric,
What about the "Update hostname in host addresses if changed?" option on Webmin -> Networking -> Network Configuration -> Hostname and DNS Client. Should that option be ticked?

If you want it to update /etc/hosts, that option should be ticked :-)
Most folks changing the hostname would want that to be updated.

Webmin should already update /etc/mailname on a Debian or Ubuntu system when you change the hostname.
In the next release, it will update the hostname in the mydestination line in /etc/postfix/main.cf . That should be all you need to change ..

@Eric, ok. There are no associated help files to explain that, hence my question. I had already planned to manually edit /etc/hosts for obvious reasons. Thanks for explaining that.
