Webmin 1.380 / Virtualmin Pro 3.482 crashes on Ubuntu 7.4 after I start mailman's qrunner. Sounds crazy and I wish I could figure it out. Perhaps this will help:
- I was happily running the Virtualmin Mailman 4.4 module with Webmin 1.370 / VM Pro (v?) until two days ago when I upgraded to Webmin 1.38 / Vmin 3.482.
- After the upgrade Webmin/Virtualmin displayed 'Warning your system is actually running version ' on the System Information page. Any subsequent operation crashed Webmin/Virtualmin
- No errors found in any logs including webmin.log, miniserv.error.
- Starting Webmin manually I noticed that the 'mailman' module hangs during load.
- Disabling 'mailman' in Bootup and Shutdown prevents qrunner from executing and permits Webmin/Virtualmin to launch flawlessly. No system warning header is displayed on the System Information page and all Webmin/Virtualmin operations work perfectly. All mailman lists can be accessed and managed (though no new messages are processed because qrunner is deactivated).
- Re-enabling 'mailman' in Bootup and Shutdown and/or issuing a 'mailmanctl start' command starts qrunner and immediately causes problems for Webin/Virtualmin. Once qrunner is active any subsequent Webmin/Virtualmin operation crashes Webmin/Virtualmin (the Webmin process simply disappears).
I'm relatively new to Webmin/Virtualmin user and, while I am unaware of making any configuration changes beyond those described here, I'm ready to hear that this is human error as it makes no sense to me that qrunner could have this effect.
Thanks for your help.
