Saving a user with SVN access requires a password (even when a password already exists)

I get the following when modifying a user that has subversion access:

Failed to save mailbox : A password must be entered when enabling SVN for a user

But the subversion password already exists, and so shouldn't be needed when changing unrelated aspects of the user account.
