OS listed, but installer says it is not supported

Hi,

I've just begun to install VirtualMin Pro, and it's telling me that my OS is not supported - but my OS is in the list (Ubuntu 10.04 LTS).

Is this a bug, can I ignore the warning - or is there something I should know about?

TIA. Mark.

The systems currently supported by install.sh are: Fedora Core 10-11 on i386 and x86_64 CentOS and RHEL 3-6 on i386 and x86_64 Scientific Linux 6 on i386 and x86_64 Debian 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 on i386 and amd64 Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and 10.04 LTS on i386 and amd64 FreeBSD 7 and 8 on i386 and amd64

If your OS is not listed above, this script will fail. More details about the systems supported by the script can be found here:

I am facing the same problem. My OS is Red Hat 6 but the installer says

The systems currently supported by install.sh are:
CentOS 4 and 5 on i386 and x86_64
Debian 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 on i386 and amd64
Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and 10.04 LTS on i386 and amd64

with no mention at all to Red Hat.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.1 (Santiago)

Hi Mark -- your Ubuntu 10.04 distribution is listed in the OS list it outputs there:

Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and 10.04 LTS on i386 and amd64

Ubuntu 10.04 is a "LTS" release, meaning Long Term Support.

So, you can safely hit 'y' when it asks if you wish to continue. There's always a prompt there, the installer asks everyone to verify that their OS is one of the supported OS's in the list.

MunzirTaha, your problem is slightly different... could you open a new support request regarding that? It looks like you found a bug in the RHEL 6 support in the GPL repository.

We'll post a follow up to your forum post when that issue is fixed. Thanks!
