Could you add a check for the php5.conf issues in (at least) Debian 5.0 and Ubuntu 10.04 LTS?
When things get weird, I click Re-Check Configuration. It would be nice if it issued a warning upon finding this file without the commented-out line.
However, this problem can exist for a long time before one would notice it, so maybe a daily check?

Howdy -- well, there shouldn't be any cases where that occurs now.
While the "SetHandler" lines initially were a problem, those are now commented out by the installer.
However, I'll talk to Jamie about whether it makes sense to add a check for that. If folks are still running into this issue, we'd certainly like for there to be a simple way to figure out the problem.
Regarding the config check -- a way to run the "Re-Check Config" each day would be to use the command line API with an option like this:
virtualmin check-config
You could then add that into root's crontab.

Thanks. The cron option would be perfect once it checks for this problem.
I think the only time this issue occurs is with an OS upgrade when VM is already installed.

Good suggestion .. I will add a check for this problematic SetHandler directive to the config check in Virtualmin 3.88.
