backup fails

which can happen of course :-)

But virtualmin then sends an email which contains the password of the ftp server in clear text. I believe this is not a necessary.

That's odd, the password shouldn't be shown ... could you paste the exact message that contains the password?

Ok, I see now .. I'll fix this in the 3.88 Virtualmin release.
