When generating a new CSR for an about to expire SSL certificate, using the signing request tab of Manage SSL certificate, and, selecting the radio button named RSA key size default (2048), I get an error when using the CSR on namecheap, it says the key size is too small.
If I redo the request and specify a key size specifically instead of default, and, enter 2048 (presumably the same), it works. So, I am guessing the default is not what it says, 2048.

Thanks, but, same topic really for the most part, so, while you are there.....
Just got certificate back from namecheap, and, went to the new certificate tab to copy and paste it in. It told me the certificate did not start with -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
However, it DID! Just not with the \ of course.
So, I simply used the Choose File after saving it into a file and it worked.

What \ are you referring to?

See attached screen capture. Obviously the file did not have the backslashes, just your error message does, and it WAS a valid cert.

That error message is incorrect .. those \ characters shouldn't be there. However, the validation it does is correct.
What is the actual first line of your cert?

Last reply until next week, am leaving for a trip.
It is the correct one of course!
Here's the first TWO lines:
-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- MIIFKTCCBBGgAwIBAgIQbJILAsuSSVkMDD0PzPhG2jANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQUFADBx
Naturally, it's valid since it's not self generated. And, works fine when the same cert is copied and pasted into a file as mentioned.
Enjoy!

That looks OK .. are there perhaps any blank spaces at the start or end of the BEGIN line?

Don't recall, it's updated since I did the copy and paste to file and uploaded the file, so, I guess assume there was spaces or something since it's too late.
If that portion happens again, I'll re-file a new ticket.
