Exim?? hellooo

Alright ive been looking around lately.. what ive found is quite troubling. Virtualmin DOES NOT SUPPORT EXIM YET!!!

look, i dont know how to make this kind of stuff, but if i could, i would. I found some old threads, some that dated back to 2004... thats 7 years. 7 years people have been asking for exim support, and nothing.

me personally, i do not have a choice but to use exim, and i'd LOVE to use virtualmin.... and there IS a functioning webmin module for exim... i think this is just rediculous.

can someone PLEASE do something???? its 2011 for christ sake..

That's correct, the recommended mail server for use with Virtualmin is Postfix. Other mail servers will work, but not as well :-)

There is support for Sendmail and Qmail. And even experimental Exim support, though not all of the mail functions are supported (that is, we don't recommend it, but you can always give it a try and see if it'll work for you).

So, Postfix is the recommended mail server. If you wish to use an alternative mail server, you can configure which one to use in System Settings -> Virtualmin Configuration, and set "Mail Server To Configure".

Supporting additional mail servers in Virtualmin is quite a lot of work, as each mail server has its own configuration files, capabilities and limitations. We decided on Postfix, Sendmail and Qmail as they are the most commonly used servers..

Most users install Virtualmin on a freshly installed empty system, so can use the default mail server (Postfix).

Is there any particular reason why you prefer Exim over other mail servers?
