When attempting to disable a script installer, at System Settings->Script Installers, I uncheck the script installers I'd like to disable, but upon saving, they are still checked. I've tried different browser, just in case - Chrome dev 9, firefox 3.6 and IE 8.

Odd, this works for me.
Did you click the "Save Available Scripts" button?
