Under Virtualmin > Server Configuration > Change IP Address, we can make adjustments to the IP Address assigned to a server. I have a few questions related to this...
(1) There is an option to "Convert Private Address to Shared". How can we convert a shared address back to a private address?
(2) What is specifically changed when a private address is converted to a shared address?
(3) For an Alias Server, the "Change IP Address" option is not available. I change the IP address for the main domain for my server, but the alias domains did not seem to change. How can I resolve this?
Thanks, Ian

To convert a shared IP back to private, you would have to switch the domain to using the default public IP, then remove that shared address on the Shared IP Addresses page, then select the IP as a private address for the domain again. However, this may not be really needed, as a shared IP being used by only one domain is really the same as a private IP.
The IP is just marked as usable by other domains.
What feature of the alias domain wasn't updated properly? The DNS records, or something else?

When the main server's IP was moved through Virtualmin, none of the alias servers were updated. So, I used Webmin to change all the DNS entries (and 'of course, restarted BIND). Everything seems to resolve and work correctly, but if under Virtualmin > List Virtual Servers, if listed by IP, the alias domains still appear under their old entries and not under their current IP addresses.

OK, I see the bug here .. the IP changing page was re-written in Virtualmin 3.81, but unfortunately gained some bugs in this area :-( You work-around is the correct fix though.
A proper fix will go into Virtualmin 3.81.
