could not upgrade using interface then can't check license

Hi Team,

I was using virtualmin pro 3.72 and interface told me there was update to 3.8 available.

When choosing to upgrade from web interface, it told me "can't resolve IP address for"

Thus I expected I could download a .deb of the 3.8 Virtualmin pro but could not find any.

So I manage to install 3.8GPL, thinking GPL to PRO was done by checking license.

But now, I got a virtualmin GPL, showing I have a license in the "information menu" with unlimited domains available ;)

I just seen there is a menu for upgrading from GPL to PRO by entering serial and key but I got the following message and upgrade doesnt work.

Upgrading Virtualmin Debian packages : usermin webmin-virtual-server= webmin

Reading package lists... Building dependency tree... Reading state information... usermin is already the newest version. E: Version '' for 'webmin-virtual-server' was not found

.. fait!

I hope I did not screw my machine up :(

Thanks for your time helping me.

Johann

Howdy -- would it be possible to log in to your server to take a look?

We can then review your server and determine the best way to fix it :-)

If that's okay, email your root login details to eric@virtualmin.com, and include a link to this issue report in the message body. Thanks!

I send an email to Eric, I wont be able to provide direct root access to the server for confidentiality reason, but I can be your eyes and fingers on it, if he tells me where and what to look for.

Thanks.

You should be able to resolve the issue by installing the correct .deb file for Virtualmin.

To do that, you can download this file:

http://software.virtualmin.com/debian/dists/virtualmin-universal/main/bi...

You'll need to enter your Virtualmin serial number as the username, and the license key as the password.

That is the Virtualmin Pro package, and you can use that to replace your Virtualmin GPL package that you currently have installed.

Issue Solved by downloading the right package with the link given above.

Thanks team.
