Virtual Server not Completely removed

Hi,

I have been reading and finding the answers to all my questions and problems. But this is still a problem for me as well.

I deleted one of my virtual servers via the Disable and Delete link. Now trying to add a server with the same name I get errors stating that the server is already hosted by the DNS, Apache etc. webservers are still running. I have checked and all these webservers (DNS, Apache etc) still have entries for the old virtual server.

How should I go about this? And if I (or my clients) decide to remove (delete) virtual servers in the future will the DNS, Apache ets. entries be removed or will I have to do this manually every time?

Thanks in advance,

They should be automatically removed every time you delete a domain - if not, that is a bug in Virtualmin. Or perhaps the deletion process failed part way through..

If you create a test domain and then delete it, does everything get cleaned up?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I created Test.com and deleted it...all the services are still there, BIND, Mysql, ProFTP, AWstats etc.

So whats the next step?

Thanks

Could you post a screenshot of the page that appears when you delete a virtual server? I'd like to see if it reports any error messages ..

Jamie - There were no errors I can assure you that. It only said - server remove, all files deleted , refreshing webmin. Something like that. I dont want to create another server and then have to delete all of those databases by hand as well.

Could you post the output here? I'd really like to see what steps it took in the deletion process ...

Sorry I feel really really stupid now...

I checked the "Keep all databases and users untouched" button.

Lol, sorry to bother you! Just so use to clicking those little check boxes.

It all works now!

Hope this can at least help someone in the future!

Ok, that would explain it. That "Keep all databases untouched" button is designed to do exactly what you saw, which is to leave the domain serving and just make Virtualmin "forget" about it..
