Cloudmin GPL and IP of VMs issue

Hello again,

This is the second from a series of bug reports that I'm going to submit.

I installed Cloudmin GPL on a dom0 already running several domUs that I was managing "by hand" and tried to "import" those domUs into Cloudmin, which worked fine apparently. The problem is that on "List managed systems" page Cloudmin lists all my domUs with the same IP address... Shouldn't cloudmin look in the vif field of the cfg file for that domU to get the IP (if specified at all)? Also, is there a way to manually tell Cloudmin which IP is each VM using (without installing webmin or giving ssh access on the domU)?

I will attach a picture of the thing, maybe it helps to better understand this issue.

When importing a system, the IP is based on whatever you enter in the "Internet hostname" field on the "Add system" form. Cloudmin will resolve this hostname to an IP address..

Did you perhaps enter the same thing for all the systems you imported?

Nope, I put just words like "lucian" in the hostname. I don't need/think of a proper FQDN scheme yet. Any way I can change the IPs now? If I de-register the system and then import it again, specifying the IP in the hostname field, would that work? (guess not)

Yes, you can just de-register them, and then re-register entering the IP as the hostname.

Actually, it looks like there is a real Cloudmin bug here - it should have prevented you from adding the same hostname multiple times. I will fix this in the next release (version 4.4)

Hi Jamie,

Well, I did not add VMs with the same hostname, it's just that I did not use proper fqdn host names. I will let you know if de-registering and adding with IP as hostname will work.

Thanks!
