Installing Virtualmin Pro on Ubuntu 8.04.4 64-bit failing

I just tried to install a new server on Ubuntu 8.04.4 64-bit and received the following message:

Package webmin is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source

FATAL - Fatal Error Occured: Something went wrong during installation: 0 FATAL - Cannot continue installation. FATAL - Attempting to remove virtualmin repository configuration, so the installation can be FATAL - re-attempted after any problems have been resolved. FATAL - Removing temporary directory and files. FATAL - If you are unsure of what went wrong, you may wish to review the log FATAL - in /root/virtualmin-install.log

After receiving this message, I then tried the 32-bit version and also tried moving back to 8.04.1 to see if it would install.

Passing this one to Joe...

If you run apt-get update from the command line, does it report any errors?

Can I add this to this thread, as I seem to be having similar issues as RickHolt, on same OS Ubuntu 8.04.4 64-bit.

As far as I can tell virtualmin-base wont install because it relies on webmin-virtual-server & webmin-virtual-server-theme and neither is available for install according to aptitude.

I dont know wether this helps?

I have managed to get Virtualmin 3.77GPL installed and then updated to PRO, in a very round about fashion. But it now states that it is installed on 2 systems, which is incorrect.

Have just tried Virtualmin package updates, and the server-theme is listed as available to install but fails when install actioned.

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of virtualmin-base: virtualmin-base depends on webmin-virtual-server-theme; however: Package webmin-virtual-server-theme is not installed. dpkg: error processing virtualmin-base (--configure): dependency problems - leaving unconfigured Errors were encountered while processing: virtualmin-base Reading package lists... .. install failed!

Ok, looks like a bug with the repository rebuild script .. looking into it now.

Both apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade work without a hitch.

Could anyone who is seeing this please try again? It should be fixed now ..

I tested this and it seems to be working great. Thanks!

Carried out a fresh install this morning and yes can confirm all loaded ok.

Thanks guys
