I have a fresh Opensolaris install and when I run the first "Checking Configuration" have this error message:

SpamAssassin and Procmail are installed and configured for use.

Looks like the real cause of the error is the "Can't write to temporary directory" message. This is a little misleading - what it really means is that your system is low on RAM, and ClamAV uses a lot of RAM.
How much RAM do you have, and can you increase it?
