Hi Jamie,
I was wondering if at some stage you could add an 'enable versioning?' option to Vmin's backup to S3 feature?
Amazon released versioning today, here is a link to the (seemingly pretty simple) method of how to enable versioning on 'buckets'.
http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AmazonS3/latest/dev/EnablingVersioning...
Thanks!

Enabling versioning could certainly be done .... but would you also need the ability to restore a specific version?

Hey Jamie,
I hadn't considered that to be honest. I just saw the new versioning ability on S3 and thought 'That wouldn't hurt" in regards to my weekly full backups.
If it ever came to needing to use a versioned backup, which is hopefully an unlikely scenario, I would download it with S3Fox/Cyberduck/whatever, and then upload it to VMin, so the short reply is 'no I wouldn't personally want the ability to restore specific versions'. ;)
Thanks,
R.

Could you perhaps just pre-create the bucket and set the versioning flag on it? That would remove the need for Virtualmin to have this feature :-)

Um. Yes, that would work just fine as well wouldn't it...
I'll go and flog myself with sticks for not thinking of that earlier, shall I?
Sorry for the time wasting Jamie, consider this feature request closed. :-)
