Creating backup for virtual server cuffstuff.de ..
.. failed to create temporary backup directory /home/cuffstuff.ch/domains/cuffstuff.de/.backup : mkdir: cannot create directory `/home/cuffstuff.ch/domains/cuffstuff.de/.backup': No such file or directory
This is a aliased domain cuffstuff.de and in a previous bug report I was told this had been fixed but since the last 2 updates this seems to have been broken again.

Damn, I thought I'd fixed that one. I presume this alias domain doesn't normally have a home directory?

correct

If you go to Limits and Validation -> Validate Virtual Servers and validate that alias domain, does it report any errors?

yes it does but that doesn't fix the regression... this was suppose to have been fixed - this is just a alias

OK, I think I see now.
What validation error does it report exactly?

cuffstuff.de

Ok, I'll handle that case in the next Virtualmin release - I put in code to create a home dir for the alias domain if it was supposed to be missing, but not if it had been removed like that.

Hmm I thought no alias had a home directory... why would it have one ? Seems to be pointless unless that alias had email addresses that didn't forward to the parent address or didn't even accept email.

Sometimes a home dir is needed if the alias domain has an email autoresponder, and needs somewhere to store the reply message.

there is no auto reply for this domain

Right, but in theory there could be one added ..
