Unable to receive email

Hello,

This is a fresh install of Virtualmin with one domain setup. Everything seems to work fine except inbound email. I can send and it is received by everyone, however, replies or direct sent emails to any of the user accounts are not received and it does not look like postfix processes any inbound.

At this point, I am receiving the following error in Postfix Logs:

Nov 11 20:38:31 host1 postfix/smtpd[12598]: SSL_accept error from mail-yx0-f201.google.com[209.85.210.201]: -1 Nov 11 20:38:31 host1 postfix/smtpd[12598]: lost connection after CONNECT from mail-yx0-f201.google.com[209.85.210.201] Nov 11 20:38:31 host1 postfix/smtpd[12598]: disconnect from mail-yx0-f201.google.com[209.85.210.201]

Help please.

Thanks, Carl

Hi Carl -- what's the IP address of your server? I'll test to make sure Postfix is responding normally to remote connections.

Hi,

Thanks very much! The IP of the server is: 64.139.218.39.

As a side note, I use dnsstuff.com's tools to check the DNS config, and it reports that the test cannot talk to my email server at all even thought the correct MX and A records are reported.

Also, I do not have telnet open on the gateway firewall.

Thanks again.

Were you able to determine if postfix is responding normally? All other services work fine (HTTP, HTTPS, POP, DNS) , and I can't find any other errors that help either.

OK, I can confirm that the problem is on the server and not with the firewall because during a comm test to the the mail server I restarted postfix and the comm test detected the break in communication with the mail server before the test was completed. Ever test I run says the server is timing out.

Sorry, I wasn't able to look until just now... I see Postfix is responding, and it looks like you marked it as closed -- are things working for you now?
