I finally have my server going on the normal public IP that I've used for 6-7 years.
I sent an email with the eicar.com test virus to a user on the machine and then picked it up and it was delivered without being deleted.
I do not think it was checked. Nothing in the header indicates that it was checked.
Does clamvirus leave a footer in the bottom of the email using virtualmin's setup? It'd be nice if you took it off.
anyway... there is no configure module in the webmin portion of the Virtualmin frame theme. So I cannot see all the particulars that way.
I did put the eicar.com test virus in a folder all by itself and then called clamscan from a terminal window (after a cd/ to the test folder). and it did find it and report correctly.
I have not changed any setup options from the install.sh. All my domains are setup to perform virus and spam checking. Doing a recheck server config confirms that spammassin and clamav are installed and working properly. doing a validate all virtual servers reports everything is OK.
Once I did try and change the setting to use spamd instead of spamc (standalone) and a revaldate server always would report an error that spamassin was not being called. So I switched it back. I reported this in a thread on the virtualmin forum but got no response.
Please help.
