Hi
I have one server that keeps getting the following in the kernel log

Just wondering if you are able to assist with this, it is strange as I am oly getting it on 1 server and all 3 run the same versions etc..
Operating system Debian Linux 5.0
Webmin version 1.490
Virtualmin version 3.73 Pro
Theme version 7.4
Kernel and CPU Linux 2.6.26-2-686 on i686

I doubt there is anything we can do about this one. We don't provide the PHP, Apache, or mod_fcgid packages on Debian Lenny. They're all from Debian standard packages, so if PHP is segfaulting, it's going to be an issue fixed by the Debian folks.
I'd suggest first making sure you have the latest version of everything in the stack, with apt-get.

Thanks Joe
I appreciate your comments and understand exactly what you are saying.

Sorry to re-open, but I'm facing exactly the same problem. Here's what I did:
I can't even tell you on what file/process this is happening it looks like every single process generates a segfault.
And really, once again, this only happens as soon as I launch the install script. Each I install virtualmin, my server goes down a few hours latter, completely froozen because of the amount of segfaults.
I'm aware that this may not be caused by Virtualmin or Webmin, but this is the only common stuff that fires theses errors!
Any help on this would be much appreciated!
Here is my config on Lenny:
Many thanks, Jérémy

jchatard - this sounds like a hardware issue. Often bad RAM can cause random process failure like that. I would suggest running "dmesg" and checking for any kernel messages about memory problems ..

OK, I have to admit that this is very strange.
And everything is just fine! No segfault anymore.
So I'm guessing my segfaults error where coming from one of the packages provided by the installer script!
Hope it helps! J2rémy

You might only see issues when the system is under load. Let us now if how it goes after a couple of days...
Whenever I see this kind of thing, I suspect bad memory. Could also be CPU overheating, which would exhibit under load, as Jamie mentioned. It's almost certainly hardware or kernel, though, since it is happening in multiple applications.
