Sorry about the delay -- I'll talk to Joe and figure out where that's at.

Did you buy an upgrade, or a new license?

If it was an upgrade, what is your Virtualmin serial number?

I see you have two Virtualmin licenses .. let us know which one you'd like the upgrade applied to.

the one ending with J8QIR.

I've applied your upgrade. Thanks for choosing Virtualmin! Apologies for the delay.

Thanks, but i see that the upgrade will also expire in december? (so valid for 6 months?)

Upgrades and renewals are orthogonal. An upgrade is an "in-place" upgrade of the license...it does not change anything but the domain count (if it also renewed, it'd be effectively a heavy discount on the software; note that the price of an upgrade is exactly the difference in price between two licenses).

If i understand correctly then when i would have upgraded in january then i would have 11 months before it expires (for the same costs) so don't you think its strange that you charge the full ammount for 6 months?

I never thought it strange before. Most software companies charge more for upgrades than the price difference, so I always thought we were being generous (and we've been complemented on this in the past). ;-)

But, I can see where you're coming from. I can't readily make our shopping cart smart enough to do this kind of math, but I'll fire up bc and do the math and extend your license.

OK, so the math I did was to add up the cost per month of the total price of your current license ($298/12), and then added months equal to the amount you just paid (+4 months). This isn't really accurate but I'm pretty sure the accurate math comes out to less than 3 months extra. So we'll wing it. ;-)

Anyway, your license has been updated with the new date.

Thanks, your are now complimented at present ;)

I too have purchased a license upgrade, sent an e-mail and haven't received a response. This is holding our business back! Please assist.

Cheers,

DJS
