I have to manually edit the records in Server Configuration > DNS Records if I want to add a "A record" like *.abc.domain.com with error
Failed to save DNS record : Record name contains invalid characters
while it allows me to create records such as *.domain.com , abc.domain.com .
Just has problem adding wildcard subdomain to list it works fine when added using "Manually Edit Records" option .

Are you trying to create a wildcard record for a sub-domain? It should be possible to enter just
*
for the record name, if you want a wildcard for the domain being edited.Submitted by singhdd on Sat, 09/17/2016 - 17:38 Comment #2
I am editing records of domain.com I actually want to host abc.domain.com on some other server I will use sub-domains of abc.domain.com also on that server.
So I was trying to do this with two A records
1) for abc.domain.com
2) for *.abc.domain.com
