php 7 considerations

hello -

according to this source this needs to be considered:

If you would like to upgrade php to this version it is recommended that you first check that your system will support the upgrade, e.g. making sure any CPanel-like software can run after the upgrade.

as offensive as the word c-panel may be, are there any VM considerations to moving to php-7 ?

Howdy,

Virtualmin does indeed support PHP 7, though at this time we don't know of a repository that we can officially support or recommend.

Joe tells me that it was at one point, included in the SCL repo, but it's no longer in there. We do expect them to add it back in though, and once that's the case, that would be the best way to use Virtualmin and PHP 7.

However, it can also be installed manually on any distro, but there aren't formal instructions for that. If possible, we'd suggest waiting for it to become available in the SCL repo.
