Bind - "not up"

Hello

after upgrade from Debian 5.0 to 6.0 (lenny->squeeze), Bind DNS server in virtualmin reports "X" (not Up). But the process is correctly running and start/stop/restart from command line works fine.

How can I debug this problem? I am sure it just looks into bad file or something like this, but have no idea where.

Howdy,

Try restarting both BIND and Webmin, and see if that fixes the problem. You can do that by running these commands:

/etc/init.d/bind9 restart
/etc/init.d/webmin restart

After that, does Webmin report BIND as running properly?

I did, situation repeats even after reboot of the whole machine
