How does Virtualmin handle postfix and Dedicated IPs for vhosts?

How does Virtualmin handle postfix and Dedicated IPs for vhosts?

I have a vhost with a dedicated IP on my VPS and I noticed that there is no entry for it in master.cf (which I thought Virtualmin took care of) but mail is working and I can telnet SMTP for that dedicated IP so how does Virtualmin manage that with no master.cf smtpd entry for that IP?

I am asking because I am trying to enter a custom SMTP Banner for that IP in master.cf so it matches my PTR for that IP making mail happy and I saw the main entry wasn't there when I thought it would be.

Howdy,

Yeah, Virtualmin doesn't add entries to the master.cf for each new IP address on the system.

Do you have an example master.cf configuration line that you were hoping to see added?
