Hi, i have made my first reseller account for a customer, i have set it like this.
Maximum virtual servers 30 (Currently 30) Maximum alias servers 300 (Currently 6) Maximum non-alias servers 300 (Currently 25) Maximum quota for all servers 30 (Currently 24.06 GB) Maximum mail/FTP users for all servers 300 (Currently 42) Maximum aliases for all servers Unlimited (Currently 109) Maximum databases for all servers 300 (Currently 31) Maximum bandwidth limit for all servers 125GB (Currently 230 GB)
The plan was that he should have the option to make 30 webhotels
And then 300 subdomains/alias etc...
BUT we have a problem, it looks like the system counts the subdomains and alias as virtual server? so now he have like 20 domains "virtual servers", and 10 aliases also.... and he can't make more webhotels, as the 20 domains and 10 aliases count for 30 virtual servers??? So what the point to set a limit for alias and subdomains if it beeing override of "Maximum virtual servers"?
Did i do some settings here wrong?
Thx from a Pro user. Dennis Nielsen
Howdy,
The "Maximum Virtual Servers" is the total Virtual Servers of any sort they can have. That user's total Virtual Servers can't exceed this particular setting.
Within that limit, there are two options for tuning what kind of Virtual Servers they can setup -- a setting for alias servers, and a setting for non-alias servers.
In your particular case, Virtualmin probably shouldn't be allowing you to set the maximum aliases to more than 30.
One example of how to do what you're after would be to set the Maximum Virtual Servers to 300, the Maximum Non-Alias Servers to 30, and the Maximum Alias servers to 300.
