whmcs >Login to Control Panel (https://server3.mydomain.com produces 403 error (and shows one of the virtualmin websites)

I have setup my server in whmcs

Hostname: server3.mydomain.com
IP Address: xx.xxx.xx.xxx:10000 (server external ip and virtualmin port)

Nameservers (these are all external nameservers)
Primary ns1.domain.com IP Adress: xx.xx.xx.xx
Primary ns2.domain.com IP Adress: xx.xx.xx.xx
Primary ns3.domain.com IP Adress: xx.xx.xx.xx

Server Details
Type: Virtualmin
Username: my root user (as outlined by whmcs)
Password: passwd

Secure: Yes (use ssl mode for connections)

when i try to connect to my virtualmin control panel from whmcs, i get the following:

Page not found - website name (a client website on the server...this should not be the case) https://server3.mydomain.com/session_login.cgi

the above url is wrong...it should have the port number after ".com"

any ideas on how to fix this?

You have to put the port number in the config in whmcs for the server login info. In the server setup section, Under hostname: put hostname:10000. You dont need the port number on the IP field. That field is for info only. Has nothing to do with the link that gets created/used. Hostname field is the important one.

yes you are right. I stumbled across another forum post dated from a while back where i noticed that the port number is enterred with hostname. I cant be bothered going back through whmcs notes, but im pretty sure it was their documentation (or perhaps the IP Address field help text) that said port number goes with ip address (which obviously doesnt work). I think i have it with both at present and it seems to be working ok now.
