Well..it seems that LE takes a bit to register inside of virt. Once again a reboot fixed it. This is twice now I have had this issue with LE needing a reboot.

What kind of certificate errors are you seeing?
Also, while this shouldn't be necessary, just as a troubleshooting step -- does it help to restart Apache with this command:
service httpd restart

Your connection is not private

however using the same certificate for webmin/virtualmin works fine.

Thanks for the info!
Does it help to restart Apache with the command "service httpd restart"?

I've been reviewing your system -- even after restarting Apache, it looks like the SSL cert that's currently installed into the domain "web2.etc-md.com" is the one generated by Virtualmin when SSL is enabled.
It doesn't look like a Let's Encrypt SSL cert.
Could you try reinstalling the Let's Encrypt cert into that particular Virtual Server?
The current SSL certificate looks like it was created at 09:56 server time today.
Once you re-create it, let us know and we'll review it and do some testing on it.

unfortunately I've been throttled by LE as i have been trying to get the LE cert to "stick". I'll let you know when they decide to re-allow me to request a new one.

I simply do not have time to waste here. The response times have gotten to be so long it's not conducive to continued usage of a apparently broken product. It seems andreycheck is the front line and jamie and them are part-time in their development efforts...which i understand if the virtualmin business is unable to keep itself afloat. Unfortunately I cannot justify the expense of the second license when I have never gotten virtualmin to work. I have to request a refund of my 10 user license which I will do in another thread.

Sorry if there was some confusion here... There wasn't a response, as you mentioned you were going to let us know when you were able to re-attempt obtaining an SSL cert.
We're unfortunately not quite sure what's going on here though, as we haven't been able to reproduce that, and we haven't received other reports of it occurring.
If you see this issue on your other server running the Virtualmin 100 license, let us know so we can look into it deeper.

confusion? That's not the term for it at all....i've had too many instances like this in terms of poor resolution for it to be "confusion". I got the thing reinitialized but no resolution as to why apache refused to make it stick. it doesn't matter at this point I have cancelled the virt license in question and the associated virtual machine. I ma not evaluating other control panel options to get my whmcs working.

We can't fix problems if you don't tell us about them :-)
We're unfortunately not seeing this issue on other servers, and aren't receiving similar reports from other users.
We're happy to help you sort out what's going on here, but you'd need to let us know when the system is ready for us to take a look at.
If you experience a similar problem on your server running the Virtualmin 100, let us know so that we can go take a look.
