Upgrade postgrey 1.31 ?

Hello,

I am running CentOS Linux 5.7 and Virtualmin 3.87.gpl GPL. The installed version of postgrey is:

> Installed Packages Name : postgrey Arch : noarch Version : 1.31 Release : 2.el5 Size : 99 k Repo : installed >

Is this version installed by virtualmin? Is it supposed to be the latest in the repos? Checking on the postgrey site ( http://postgrey.schweikert.ch/ ) it appears that version 1.34 is the current. What it the best way to upgrade it without breaking things?

Running yum update does not bring the latest version. Any ideas?

Thank you

That is the latest version provided by Virtualmin, what is happening that makes you think you need to upgrade?

Updating may break the implementation of postgrey on the system. And the newer version might have either depreciated some features or may have different configuration syntax.

In short, don't worry about it. You aren't running the absolute latest versions of httpd, php, mysql ... etc either.

CentOS 5 comes with postgrey 1.31-2.el5 CentOS 6 comes with postgrey 1.32-3.el6

Howdy,

Yeah, there aren't any huge new features in the more recent version... you can see the list here:

That said, we are indeed looking into all this -- we don't want to get too far behind, so we're testing to see if there's any incompatibilities between 1.31 and 1.34.
